April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star American, is among a select group of women who have won medals in several Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal with Alix Klineman who is a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. As she turns 39, it could be her final chance to take home an Olympic gold. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even if we just play well, I think we could get the gold medal." In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of good luck. Ross born August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there along with her entire family. Along with participating in a variety of sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. Along with playing indoor volleyball, she also ran track and basketball in her pre-college days. But she clearly was an edge over the other players in the latter sport. In her college volleyball season in her university profile, she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Also, in 2000 she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since 2017, the former had already been a major athlete on the beach even before the pair formed. In fact, she's won numerous events, one of which was with an iconic volleyball player. In the period 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy's teammate Ross, who was the winner of the world championship with Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the world stage. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends who was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, edged each other to take home the gold medal. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor after she had retired. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC throughout her college years before becoming a professional. Ross's Trojans experience was remarkable. When she was a freshman in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year honors. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to reach the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, yet was capable of achieving the All-American award. Over the course of her final two seasons she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and won consecutive national titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time great having won the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross didn't get to witness Ross achieve beach volleyball's top stage. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie continues to be an inspiration both on and off of the beach.
