Reese Witherspoon started seriously pursuing acting when she enrolled at Stanford University. The first time she was recognized for her work, it was with roles in films such as Pleasantville and Election but it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office smash Legally Blonde that marked a turning point in her professional career. Witherspoon received an Academy Award for her performance in Walk the Line in 2005. Water for Elephants: This Means War & Wild, and for both, she was awarded an Oscar nomination. Witherspoon was also a hit on television as a producer and co-star on David E. Kelley's popular award-winning TV series Big Little Lies. Witherspoon's birth name is Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon. The comedy The Invisible Man, 2003 she made her debut in a feature film. Later, she starred in the television series House of Lies Whitney & Better Call Saul. Film credits are The Dictator, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and The Dictator. She is a talented artist, and has been featured in a number of galleries.
